BayWa r.e. AG spins off PV planning software Solar-Planit

BayWa r.e. has established the department responsible for the PV planning tool Solar-Planit as a fully owned subsidiary. The spin-off is intended to drive the growth and internationalisation of the company and the Tübingen-based Solar Trade Entity.

Solar-Planit enables fast and convenient planning of PV systems and offers simple solutions for tasks such as searching for a suitable inverter or planning the novotegra mounting system. The software is currently used by almost 4,000 users throughout Europe and has already contributed to the realisation of thousands of PV systems.

Steffen Lindemann will take over the management of Solar-Planit Software GmbH. He has been working in the field of solar energy and software development for more than 20 years. Before BayWa r.e., he worked for Berlin-based Valentin Software GmbH, including for their benchmark product PV*SOL.

‘After 17 years at Valentin Software, 2022 was the right time for me to take on new tasks and challenges,’ says Lindemann. ‘The energy transition, and PV in particular, is still a matter close to my heart and I am delighted to be taking on new tasks in a highly motivated team!’

Alexander Schütt, Regional Director Solar Trade at BayWa r.e.: “After BayWa r.e. and Solar Trade in particular have seen strong expansion in recent years, we now want to drive this internationalisation forward with our Solar-Planit software as well. In Steffen Lindemann, we have gained an absolute expert in this field. We are already looking forward to realising PV systems worldwide even faster and more efficiently with him and his team.”
